Todd Blakeley Skelton

Todd is from Surgoinsville and was valedictorian of Volunteer High School. He is the son of Mark and Joanna Skelton. Todd graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in the College Scholars Program. He received the Torchbearer Award, the highest undergraduate student honor at UT for his leadership and service contributions to the university. Todd graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law and Haslam College of Business with a dual J.D./M.B.A.

Todd is the General Counsel for HF Capital in Knoxville.  He has served as Chief Legal Counsel for Strategic Acquisitions Group in Knoxville and advised Governor Bill Lee’s Unified Command during the COVID-19 pandemic.  He previously served as Deputy Counsel to Governor Bill Haslam and was an attorney with Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C.  He is a board member of Legacy Parks Foundation and United Way of Greater Knoxville.  He serves on the Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments, which assists in selecting appellate court judges in Tennessee. Todd and his wife have two sons.

    The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
