Elizabeth Ann Jones

Elizabeth, the daughter of David Jones and Ann Lavender, graduated from Science Hill High School in Johnson City. She graduated magna cum laude with Departmental Honors from Clemson University earning a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.

She was awarded the “Excellence in Engineering” award from the Clemson Mechanical Engineering Department for her undergraduate research. She participated in an automotive engineering study abroad experience in Esslingen, Germany. She completed engineering internships with Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties and Milliken & Company as an intern in Engineering Services.

Elizabeth is Operations Maintenance Manager for Acetate Spinning at Eastman Chemical Company. She is a registered and licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Tennessee. She volunteers with the Meals on Wheels organization in Kingsport and with tnAchieves, mentoring students through the TN Promise scholarship process. Elizabeth resides in Johnson City.

    The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
