Patrick Carder Brown

Patrick is from Greeneville, Tennessee, graduating from Greeneville High School.  He is the son of Bill and Jane Brown.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in landscape architecture from Purdue University.  He was a member of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club for which he received honors, including, “Freshman of the Year,” the “Griffin Award” for most compassionate member, and was appointed as a member of the Student Leadership Board.  Patrick completed internships with, Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects and Jacobs/Ryan Associates, in Chicago, Illinois; the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, North Carolina; and with the East Tennessee State University campus horticulturalist.

Patrick is President of Ross/Fowler, P.C., where he provides design direction, quality control, and oversight for landscape architectural and planning projects, including campus design, urban parks, streetscapes, greenways, and public plazas throughout the southeast.  He and his wife reside in Knoxville with their two children.

    The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
