Mckenzie, daughter of the late Jonathan Reynolds, graduated at the top of her class from North Greene High School with a 4.0 grade point average. She served as president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and secretary of her senior class. She was co-founder of the first Anti-Bullying Club chapter at North Greene, and served as club secretary. She was an active member of DECA, the National Honor Society, Youth Leadership, and Youth Council. She participated in varsity volleyball and basketball and lettered in both.
McKenzie is a graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. During her time at UT, she was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha, serving as chapter secretary from 2016-2017, and acted as a Campus Brand Representative for Victoria Secret PINK. She was a member of Mortar Board and Order of Omega. She was selected to participate in the PepsiCo Diversity Leadership Development Program. She completed summer internships at Eastman Chemical Company and Landair Transport, Inc.
McKenzie earned a Master’s in Accountancy with a concentration in Information Management at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She began her career with Blackburn, Childers & Steagall as a staff auditor and is now a Senior Audit Associate. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Tennessee. She was elected to the Board of Directors for the Hands On Museum and serves on their finance committee. She and her husband Zak reside in Johnson City.
The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
