Dr. Lillie Seal Taffer

Lillie is the daughter of Mark and Diane Seal. She is married to Cody Taffer.  She graduated with honors from Hancock County High School where she maintained a 4.0 GPA.

Lillie graduated magna cum laude from Lincoln Memorial University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in Human Learning and Development. At LMU, Lillie was elected as Student Body President. She participated in a two-month study abroad program in France and Spain, studying religious diversity. Lillie earned her Ed. D. from Capella University.

Dr. Taffer is teaching 11th grade English at Jefferson County High School and 11th and 12th grade English for the Jefferson County Virtual Academy. Previously, she taught 7th & 8th grade English/Language Arts at Northwest Elementary in Cocke County. She was elected Secretary of the Jefferson County Education Association (JCEA).  She was chosen to participate in the Tennessee Education Association’s 2022 Emerging Leaders School.  She is a Tennessee Promise Mentor for Jefferson County seniors. She and her husband, Cody, reside in Dandridge.

    The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
