Jessica Lee Verran-Lingard

Jessica, a native of Johnson City and daughter of Pam Verran and Henry Lingard, graduated from Science Hill High School as valedictorian. She attended Vanderbilt University, where she was a Chancellor’s Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. During her junior year at Vanderbilt, Jessica attended the University of Oxford, St. Catherine’s College, where she studied advanced calculus and international relations and conflict. She graduated from Vanderbilt with honors and with degrees in both mathematics and political science.

Jessica graduated from Stanford Law School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business with a joint JD/MBA degree, where she focused on copyright law and the music industry. She gained work experience through summer associate positions at Bradley, Arant, Boult, Cummings, LLP in Nashville, Tennessee and Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP in New York, where she was a Diversity Fellowship Award recipient. She interned at INgrooves Music Group in San Francisco, California, in the Legal and Business Affairs Department.

Jessica works as an intellectual property associate at Gunderson Dettmer, LLP in the San Francisco Bay Area. She focuses her work on the entertainment industry and technology.

    The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
