Janice Ericson lives in Elizabethton, TN where she taught English and Spanish for the Carter County School System. She is married. She served as a missionary pilot’s wife, in West Africa, spent three months in Peru working with the Peruvian nationals, worked as a volunteer in the UK at a bookshop for nine summers. She has traveled extensively throughout the world with the exception of Asia. She holds degrees in English and Spanish, including a MA in British literature, Teaching on the staff at Niswonger is one of the highlights of her career.
The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
