James Michael Durham

James, a resident of Limestone, graduated as valedictorian from Chuckey-Doak High School. He is the son of Mike and Lara Durham.

James graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in marketing. He was a member of the Notre Dame juggling club, using his talents to assist community fundraising events. James was also involved with a boxing program that raises money for missions in Bangladesh. He interned with Notre Dame Center for Social Concerns in social venturing and microfinance, working with the Learning Generation Initiative and the Soup of Success programs in Elkhart, Indiana. James was named “Mr. Notre Dame” by his peers.

James is a full time student at California State University, pursuing a Masters degree as a Physician Assistant.  He works weekends at Forward Air Corporation in Sacramento, California. He previously worked with State Farm Financial Services and Pursuing Results in San Diego.

    The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
