Ethan is a native of Greeneville, where he graduated from Greeneville High School. He is the son of Kay Reynolds and the late David Reynolds. He is a graduate of Carson Newman University, where he studied biology and chemistry with a focus on a pre-medical curriculum.
Ethan received his M.D. degree from the University of Tennessee- Memphis College of Medicine. He completed a residency program in anesthesiology at St. Louis University for Anesthesiology and Critical Care in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed a one-year Critical Care Fellowship in Birmingham, Alabama.
Ethan is currently a private practice anesthesiologist in St. Louis, Missouri, where he, his wife Sherry and children Isabella and Emmett reside. He plans to broaden his scope of practice to include critical care.
The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
