Brandon is from Johnson City and the son of Janice Reeser. He graduated valedictorian from Elizabethton High School and from Furman University with degrees in history, philosophy and Asian studies.
While at Furman, Brandon was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Society and served as Philanthropy Chairman for Furman’s chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity. During his junior year, he studied abroad at Kansai Gaikokugo Daigaku in Osaka, Japan.
Brandon graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Emory University School of Law. While at Emory, he clerked for the Supreme Court of Tennessee in the Chambers of The Honorable Gary R. Wade and The Honorable Sharon G. Lee as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in the chambers of The Honorable Richard W. Story.
He is an Attorney with Wilson & Heyward, LLC in Charleston, South Carolina, where he, his wife Elizabeth and children Micah and Maddie reside.
The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
