Dr. Ramona Milhorn Williams is a native of Sullivan County and a graduate of Sullivan East High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, a master’s in counseling and a doctorate in education, from East Tennessee State University. She is a graduate of Leadership Greene County Class of 2020.
Throughout her 35 plus years in higher education, her work has focused on services and initiatives designed to provide opportunities and enhance student success. The ability to interact with and positively influence students stimulated her initial interest in a career in education and continues to motivate her today.
The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
