Kayla Williams Mehr

A native of Morristown, Kayla graduated from Morristown East High School. She is the daughter of David and Melody Williams.

Kayla graduated from the BSN program at the University of Tennessee. She served as Treasurer of the Student Nurses Association and completed an internship with the Dean of Research for the College of Nursing. Kayla also completed an internship at Morristown Hamblen Hospital and participated in a service trip to Honduras. She was the 2012 and 2013 recipient of the Artie Ruth Reilly nursing scholarship.

Kayla is board certified by the ANCC as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). She is the Assistant State Opioid Treatment Authority. She works under the Medical Director for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health in the department of Clinical Leadership. She previously worked as a Tennessee Recovery Navigator Nurse Practitioner for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services in Nashville. She was a PMHNP with TeamHealth and served residents of post-acute care facilities throughout Northeast Tennessee. She was a member of the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. She is a member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. She is assisting the Tennessee Opioid Treatment Authority Office with their review of the public rule making comments for the rules that govern Tennessee outpatient based opioid treatment clinics and opioid treatment programs. She resides in Smyrna, Tennessee with her son, Williams (Will).
