Yaying Wang Poe

Yaying is from Greeneville where she graduated from Greeneville High School. She is the daughter of YuYan Liu and the late ZuJian Wang.

Yaying graduated from Emory University with a degree in psychology and neuroscience. While at Emory she served as president of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship and as a member of the Nu Rho Psi Honors Society. She published a research paper on CRISPR Immunity with Bruce Levin, a National Academy of Science member. Yaying finished her cross-cultural research on Morality and Fairness in Children in Samoa, Vanuatu, Mexico, and the U.S. She completed a study abroad experience in the South Pacific Islands and New Zealand. For her community service, Yaying chose to lead a group of students in a volunteer effort at a terminal cancer center.

Previously, she worked as a nurse technician in oncology at Emory University Hospital. and as a teacher at the Emory Autism Center in Atlanta. She graduated from Duke University with a Physician Assistant degree. She is working with the CVS Minute Clinic as a Physician Assistant in Durham, North Carolina. Yaying resides in North Carolina with her husband, John and son Wesley.

    The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
