Richard Wade Vradenburgh

Richard, son of the late William and Deborah Vradenburgh, graduated summa cum laude and in cursu honorum from Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He volunteered at the Teens Need Training (TNT) program sponsored by the Cookeville Housing Authority, at the Tennessee Tech Food Pantry, and as a peer tutor on campus. Richard also completed a study abroad semester at King’s College London, worked as a teaching assistant for the Tennessee Tech Math Department, and completed a summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga under the guidance of Dr. Andrew Ledoan.

Richard earned a masters degree in mathematics at the University of Virginia. He plans to complete his PhD in mathematics, focusing on number theory, at the University of Georgia, at a later date. He is teaching mathematics at the Commonwealth Governor’s School at Stafford High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. His future career goal is to work as a professor of mathematics in East Tennessee. He and his wife Shayla reside in Louisa, Virginia.
