Dillan is the son of Shannon and Deanie Grooms. He attended Cosby High School where he graduated as valedictorian and as Mr. Cosby High. He maintained a 4.0 GPA and graduated with 36 college credit hours through Walter State Community College. He completed over 2000 Community service hours. He served as senior representative of the Cosby High Academy, Student Council Leader and was an active member in the Key Club.
Dillan is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering. At TTU he served as a brother of Phi Gamma Delta, a member of the Golden Circle chapter of Mortar Board, and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He completed two summer engineering internships at Jarden Zinc, in Greeneville and at Logan Aluminum, Inc. in Russellville, Kentucky. Dillan is the Primary Industrial and Cathodic department Manager at Artazn, in Greeneville. He, his wife, Maci, and daughter, Magnolia reside in Parrottsville.
The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
