Raini, daughter of Corby and Diane Rowenhorst, graduated with honors from David Crockett High School. While attending DCHS, she served as vice-president of the FFA, activities director of the Civinettes, and secretary of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was selected to represent the Washington County school system at the Student Congress on Policies in Education. Raini participated in many volunteer projects within her community and church, including Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House and the Crumley House where she is continuing her service in their occupational therapy department.
Raini graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in Anthropology and Culture and Health. She spent 3 years working at Coalition for Kids as Site Director for their Mountain View program, in Johnson City. She was instrumental in helping update the organization’s behavior management procedures to reflect a trauma informed approach with students.
Raini currently serves as the campus children’s ministry leader at her church. She is continuously seeking ways to serve her community in Johnson City and Washington County, especially with children, families, and young mothers.
The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
