Lorraine, daughter of Keith and Eloine Hayes, is a graduate of Cloudland High School. She served as Senior Class President, Youth Leadership Delegate, and Varsity Cheerleading Captain. Her awards include Highest ACT Score, Principal’s Pride, and UCA All-American Cheerleader. During high school, Lorraine volunteered with Salvation Army and the Operation Christmas Child Processing Center. She also worked to organize a blood drive and clothing drives in her community.
Lorraine graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a minor in Entrepreneurship. Lorraine was a member of the Wake Forest Cheerleading team, Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and Mortar Board Honor Society, the last of which she served as President. She served as a member of the Honor and Ethics Counsel, the Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce for the Panhellenic Council, and Intercultural Center ambassador. She also volunteered with Campus Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity, and Students to Students.
After graduation, Lorraine accepted a job as a paralegal at Arnold & Porter in their New York City Office.
Lorraine currently attends law school at Boston College. She serves as President of the Real Estate Law Society and has completed an internship at the US Attorney’s Office. She completed a summer associate program at Hunter, Smith and Davis.
The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
