Todd Blakeley Skelton

Todd is from Surgoinsville and was valedictorian of Volunteer High School. He is the son of Mark and Joanna Skelton. Todd graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in the College Scholars Program. He received the Torchbearer Award, the highest undergraduate student honor at UT for his leadership and service contributions to the university. Todd graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law and Haslam College of Business with a dual J.D./M.B.A.

Todd is Chief Legal Counsel for Strategic Acquisitions Group, in Knoxville. He previously served as Deputy Counsel to Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and was an attorney with Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he served a temporary assignment as legal counsel for Governor Bill Lee’s COVID-19 Unified Command. He serves on the Board of Directors of Legacy Parks Foundation and the Bays Mountain 50th Year Celebration Committee. He was selected for Leadership Knoxville Class of 2021. Todd, and his wife Kim, reside in Knoxville with their two sons.

    The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
