Pam Cox

Pam, a native of East Tennessee, is a retired accountant with 31 years of governmental accounting experience.  After graduating from Tennessee Technological University, she moved to Knoxville, where she started her accounting career with the State of Tennessee.  While in Knoxville, she audited county governments and fell in love with the Tennessee Volunteers.

She eventually moved back to Upper East Tennessee and began 24 years of service in public education.  She was employed by the Carter County School System as their first Finance Director.  Seeking city school experience, she worked for Greeneville City Schools and later moved to the Johnson City School System to be closer to her three children.

After retiring, she obtained her health and life insurance licenses.  She is currently working part-time as an insurance producer as well as being the Compliance Officer for the Rural LIFE grant at the Niswonger Foundation.

The Niswonger Foundation was established in 2001 to make a positive and sustainable difference in education in Northeast Tennessee. This dream was envisioned by Scott M. Niswonger, who founded Landair Transport, Inc. and Forward Air Corporation. These companies were the first two Greeneville-based companies to be taken public in the history of Greene County, Tennessee. Jointly, the companies have combined annual revenue of over one-billion-dollars and employ more than 5000 people.
